In my opinion, 5 months is a fairly long window after exposure and it's fine to do the Rapid card test. I would consider it as a conclusive result( negative).

Yes, testing at 5 months after a potential exposure is well past the window period for all standard HIV tests, including rapid card and immunoassay tests. The window period for modern 4th generation tests is 45 days, and for rapid antibody tests it is up to 90 days. A negative result at 5 months is considered conclusive and reliable.
