Few things causes GERD one of the commonest is due to diet. Also if you are overweight that can also be a cause. As you said it is there since one year you might have also got endoscopy done. If i could see report, would give direction to move in for treatment. You will need PPI as antacids aren't helping you enough. In broad sense gerd to me is a symptom not a disease which needs proper evaluation.
