Head spinning

Hello doctor, my son is 4 year old going to preschool. He is very active and everything is normal. But for the last one week, everyday during bedtime as soon as I switch off the lights and when he lays down, he says his head is spinning but he will sleep in 5-10 minutes. Other times he is very normal and he doesn't say it. Even when I ask him in the morning when gets up he says no spinning. I thought he feels sleepy so he says like that. Is there anything to be worried?

If he feel dizziness not after lying down but only after switching off the lights...then it doesn't seem significant. Proper fluid intake should be taken and screen time should be in limit.

Head spinning in children can have many causes such as cold, cough, tiredness, or mild dehydration. If the spinning occurs only after switching off the lights and is not present in the morning, it is usually a reassuring and common finding in children. There is no need to fear. However, if the symptoms do not subside, recur frequently, or worsen, please visit a nearby paediatrician for evaluation.

Children normally describe sensations differently than adults. It could just be nothing but over tiredness or could be just anxiety or fear of dark.
