Hi, Does HDL cholesterol increase during breastfeeding phase (during lactation)? What is the impact on total cholesterol during breastfeeding? Kindly help.

This can be a good Research Project . I don't know what advice can be given to the breastfeeding mother if her cholesterol level is high. And does she know her Cholesterol level at the time of her delivery , or before her pregnancy ? One thing for sure is that we don't treat a pregnant woman or a breastfeeding mother for hypercholesterolemia . The medicines for the purpose are contraindicated during these phases .
