HALF DAMAGED TOOTH
Hi Doctors, I have visited my dentist for silver filling two years back in my 13th teeth, but just one month back my filling removed from its place & i visited a local clinic for check up. According to my dentist during silver filling my cavity was not cleaned properly & that leads to internal damage. but still i dont have any issue of pain & puss. While check up half of my crown got removed. Please suggest me whether i should go for replacement or RCT+Capping. Please find my xray below. Please reply ASAP.

Your x ray reveals the tooth has severely damaged .For a severely damaged tooth Rct,post and core , capping is the permanent solution
RCt avoid future infection of tooth
Post and core give strength to crown buildup
Crown or cap gives protection and helps in chewing food.

Based on the current x-ray, you will be requiring root canal treatment for this tooth, followed by a procedure called post and Core and then a proper crown,,,, for the best long term functional life of this tooth..... please do not delay this treatment otherwise the tooth can become non-restorable and extraction is definitely never an advisable procedure for your age..... My dear ,I don't know what exactly are you looking for in opinions from fellow dentists. X ray u have uploaded shows very clearly that crown portion of tooth is compromised and it's just a matter of time ...you want a long term treatment ,just go for RCT with cap .

Hello, your x-ray shows that the cavity is very close to the pulp, in such cases it would be better to go for RCT and then post and core (if required) and then crown. As you said you don't have any pain, so filling can also be done, but there are high chances that you might experience pain after the filling. And proper treatment can only be suggested after thorough visual examination.
