Gas and Acidity Connection Heart attack

Recently, I was watching a podcast where a renowned Ayurveda doctor from Gujarat was claiming that if you have chronic gas and acidity, you will suffer from heart attack soon, as per the Ayurveda. He also claimed that even if your all heart reports like ECG, 2D echo and TMT are normal, you are suffering from heart issues or will develop soon. Is it true? All Ayurvedic doctors please enlighten me.

Ayurveda does recognize a connection between digestive health and heart health, but the claim that chronic gas and acidity will inevitably lead to a heart attack is not universally accepted. According to Ayurvedic principles, an imbalance in **Pitta dosha**—which governs digestion—can lead to excessive acidity, which may contribute to inflammation and stress on the body - Planet Ayurveda](https://www.planetayurveda.com/library/heartburn/). However, Ayurveda also emphasizes a holistic approach, considering multiple factors like diet, lifestyle, and emotional well-being. While Ayurveda acknowledges **Hriday Roga** (heart disease) as a condition influenced by all three doshas, it does not categorically state that normal heart reports (ECG, 2D echo, TMT) are meaningless. Modern medical diagnostics are crucial for assessing heart health, and Ayurveda often complements rather than replaces them. If you experience chronic acidity and digestive issues, it is advisable to consult both an Ayurvedic practitioner and a cardiologist to get a well-rounded perspective on your health. This claim is partially true, but needs clear understanding. In Ayurveda, chronic gas and acidity indicate Agni imbalance and aggravated Vata-Pitta, especially in Annavaha srotas (digestive channels). If left untreated, they disturb Hridaya (heart) function indirectly—not immediately causing a heart attack, but weakening Ojas, circulation, and mind-body balance over time. So even if ECG, Echo, TMT are normal, Ayurveda looks deeper—we check: Digestion and gut health Stress, emotions (Sadhaka Pitta) Circulation (Vyana Vata) Sleep, lifestyle (Dinacharya) Hence, chronic gas-acidity is a warning sign, not a direct cause. 👉 If symptoms persist, don't ignore—even if tests are normal. Ayurveda treats the root, not just the report. For true prevention, correct digestion, balance doshas, and protect heart health. Consult in time, prevent in time.
