Frequent urine taking Deflazorct 12 mg

2026-03-22 09:11:53
I have muscular dystrophy. I take Deflazacort 12 mg, Shelcal 500 and Conqueen 100. I get frequent urination mainly after taking the tablet. After passing urine, I feel urge again within minutes. This has been happening for about 2 years. If I don’t take the tablet, it is less. I cannot afford tests right now. What should I do

Likely due to deflazacort + bladder sensitivity, not serious. Reduce caffeine, take meds earlier, limit fluids at night. If burning/fever or worsening, get urine test and consult.

I understand your concern and how uncomfortable this must be. Since your symptoms are more noticeable after taking your medications, especially Deflazacort, it could be related to its effect on the body.
Next Steps
Take your Deflazacort in the morning after breakfast only Try to hydrate more during the first half of the day and reduce fluid intake in the evening Try to avoid tea, coffee, and very spicy foods, as they can irritate the bladder If possible, do check a random blood sugar once, as steroids can sometimes increase sugar levels and contribute to these symptoms.
Health Tips
Do not stop your medications without consulting your physician . If symptoms persist or worsen, do let us know.

You have Muscular Dystrophy and are taking: • Deflazacort (steroid) • Shelcal 500 (calcium) • Coenzyme Q10 (Conqueen)
Next Steps
Since you cannot afford tests right now, do practical steps first: • Check simple things at home: – Is urine excessive volume OR just frequent small amounts? • Try these adjustments: – Take Deflazacort after breakfast (not empty stomach) – Reduce fluid intake for 1–2 hours after tablet – Avoid tea/coffee immediately after dose • Basic screening (low-cost when possible): – Random blood sugar (important due to steroids)
Health Tips
• Bladder training: – Try to gradually increase gap between urination • Avoid bladder irritants: – Caffeine, spicy food • Pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) can help ⚠️ Red flags (don’t ignore): • Burning urine → possible infection • Very high thirst + frequent urination → check sugar urgently • Blood in urine ⸻

Likely medication related urinary frequency, especially from Deflazacort which can increase urine output and blood sugar. Urgency within minutes suggests bladder irritation or overactive bladder rather than kidney disease
Next Steps
-Check urine routine if possible to rule out infection -Check blood sugar as steroids can cause high sugar leading to frequent urination -Reduce evening fluid intake and observe timing with medicines -Do not stop Deflazacort without doctor advice as it is important for muscular dystrophy
Health Tips
-Avoid caffeine and excess fluids after evening -Try bladder training by delaying urination gradually -Maintain proper hygiene to avoid infection contact me anytime on practo for further consultation
