Frequent Stool, Dizziness & Joint Pain

2026-08-26 16:38:30
History: Fissure surgery in 2020. Increased bowel frequency started in 2021. Symptoms: Recurrent head rotation/dizziness, body weakness, and joint pain occurring alongside frequent toilet visits. Tests Done: Neurologist: Brain MRI (Normal) Gastroenterologist: Colonoscopy (Normal) Blood Work: Vitamin B deficiency (Treated, now normal) Core Concern: I saw the Neurologist and Gastroenterologist separately. Each evaluated only their own area without visibility into the other's domain or my joint pain. I still lack a unified diagnosis for why these symptoms interact together. Questions: 1 What underlying cause or systemic link do you suspect connects frequent bowel movements, lightheadedness, and joint pain when MRI and colonoscopy are normal? 2 Could post-fissure surgery changes play a role? 3 Which specialist (e.g., Senior Internal Medicine or Rheumatology) should I consult next?

MRI brain aur colonoscopy normal hona reassuring hai. Aapke frequent stools, dizziness aur joint pain ke multiple possible causes ho sakte hain, including dehydration/electrolyte imbalance, nutritional deficiency ya functional bowel disorder.
Next Steps
Ek baar Senior Physician/Internal Medicine specialist ko overall evaluation ke liye dikhayein. CBC, electrolytes, thyroid, vitamin B12/D, iron profile aur stool evaluation symptoms ke according consider ki ja sakti hai.
Health Tips
Paani aur electrolytes adequate rakhein aur food/symptom diary maintain karein. Fissure surgery ke baad bowel habit change ho sakta hai, lekin 4 saal se symptoms hain to sirf surgery ko cause maanna sahi nahi hoga. Weight loss, blood in stool, persistent fever, severe abdominal pain ya worsening dizziness ho to jaldi consultation karein.

This is exactly the situation where a general physician needs to look at the whole picture rather than organ by organ. With normal MRI and normal colonoscopy, the commonest unifying explanations are IBS with autonomic overactivity, post-infective or post-surgery gut sensitivity, thyroid problems, anaemia or a low-grade inflammatory/rheumatological process. Anxiety-related autonomic symptoms also genuinely cause dizziness and loose motions together, and that is not 'all in the head' - it is a real body response.
Next Steps
Please get CBC, ESR, CRP, TSH, HbA1c, vitamin D, RA factor and thyroid antibodies, plus stool routine and, if not done, a coeliac screen (tTG-IgA). Also check BP lying down and after standing - a drop explains the dizziness. The right next specialist is a general/internal medicine physician who can put all reports together; rheumatology only if inflammatory markers or RA factor are abnormal. I am happy to review everything in one sitting - teleconsult (fee Rs 500) or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj.

Lightheadness is due to electrolyte imbalance. Keep body hydrated and lifestyle modifications required in your case.follow dash diet to improve your gut/intestinal health.if arthritis still persists then consult with a good rheumatologist.

May be you need an upper git endoscopy to rule out small intestinal pathology.the recurrent diarrhea with fliuid and electrolyte loss can cause dizziness and weakness and secondary arthritis .also do cbc crp and ESR.and uric acid If these are high see a rheumatologist. colonoscopy detects only large intestinal pathology.
