She had a problem of both knee pain.She had done a xray and it ruled out of severe osteoarthritis of both knee some reduction in space.Doctors prescribed for knee replacement.But i want know that the problem of osteoarthritis can be cured by medicines to regenerate the cartilage and any physiotherapy and how can the pain be cured.Please tell me the best possible treatment other than knee replacement for the problem of OA.Thank you.

Yes physiotherapy wil b helped u to maintain the pain and inflamation.
Also need to maintain the diet.
Take electrotherapy and moist heat hot pack for 22 sessions continue latter take physio therapy 7 days every month for 3 to 6 months.
Continue all the exercises those tought by physiotherapist minimum twice a day.
If there is not 30% benifit within 15 sessions of physio, stop the physio must go for replacement.

Pain in osteoarthritis is due to loss of cartilage from joint surface. Till now there is no such drug which can regenerate cartilage in severe osteoarthritis. Intra-articular injection are available but with questionable results. With physiotherapy and analgesic u can only delay the need of replacement but may eventually require it later on.
