Fever and severe cough

My son do have fever and severe cough once in every three months since from his birth. Fever only subsides during medication and it takes 5 to 6 days to recover fully. What could be the reasons. Concern Dr says it is just viral infection. Please help

Hello,good evening Children in this age group can develop cough and coryza 7 to 8 times in a year. No need to worry for simple cough and cold. You should worry only if it is severe requiring hospital admission each time.
