I would like to know if anyone else in the family or his friends have had a fever in the last 2 weeks. He could have simply caught the flu from them Typhoid fever usually presents with diarrhoea and is a high grade fever of more than 100.4 F. It won't resolve within 5 days without treatment. He can take paracetamol tablets/syrup as per his age and weight and if he isn't allergic to it.
