My husband's femur was broken in an accident. He had an operation. Doctor's team had put a rod/metallic plate in his leg. Now he is perfect but I want to know that as rod is inside in his body, can it cause any problem in the future? Whether is it necessary to remove it from the leg. He has no pain or not any trouble with this rod. So just clear my confusion. I shall be very thankful to you.

As long as it dosent bothers your day to day activities donot bother about it but any part of life be it be after 5yrs if any issue arises see surgeon immediately to get appropriate solution.
