Female Health & Pregnancy Basics

2026-11-06 04:46:14
Hello Doctor, I wanted to discuss something with you. I am getting married next year, and before marriage, I want to educate myself about female anatomy, the reproductive system, menstrual cycles, hormonal changes, ovulation, conception, pregnancy, and related topics. Honestly, I have very limited knowledge about these subjects. When I search online, I often find different or contradictory information, which makes it difficult to understand what is medically correct. I want to learn about these topics properly from a medical and scientific perspective so that I can better understand my future partner’s body, health, and reproductive system. Would you be able to guide me on these topics as a general physician, or would you recommend consulting a gynecologist? I hope you don’t mind my questions. I am simply trying to educate myself and become more informed.

Hello These are the genuine questions that you need to know. There is nothing wrong with it. It would work much better if you can consult some Gynecologist or sexologist.

For pre marital counselling, I recommend consulting a sexologist who can guide you through reproductive anatomy, sexual health, intimacy, contraception, consent and pregnancy related topics in a confidential, non judgmental setting

This is a genuinely good thing to want to learn before marriage. The basics worth knowing are the menstrual cycle, which usually runs 21 to 35 days with bleeding for 3 to 7 days, ovulation happening roughly midway through when pregnancy becomes possible, and how hormones shift mood and the body through the month.
Next Steps
For anything beyond this, like fertility planning or contraception once you're married, please consult a gynaecologist together, which is more useful than reading further online since you can ask your specific questions directly.
Health Tips
Be careful with random online sources or AI tools for specifics, since a lot of circulating information about fertility and conception is inaccurate or oversimplified.
