3 weeks ago I had a root canal and now a gumboil has developed, why is this since according to the X-rays the root canal look good?

An X-ray shows the root canal fillng only. If a canal has been missed or there are accessory canals or if infection has been left while cleaning you may show symptoms of reinfection like a gumboil. You will require to repeat the root canal treatment
