Going through extreme fatigue and stress due to work. This situation is temporary due to resources crunch. Can I take drugs like armodafinil to keep up with the pace.

I would suggest not. Have enough sleep and rest and nutritious food. That will support you physically too. If required,  consult a psychologist for a better clarity and understanding.
