It also may prevent recurrence though long term therapy is not given due to side effects. 2) treatment is given for 3 months to 6 months, treatment given fore more than this duration usually requires additional medicine to counter act side effects. 3) ovulation does not occur and menstruation generally does not occur, though it is not used as a contraceptive. Some irregular bleeding may occur but generally bleeding stops or even if it occurs, decreases in amount.
