Elective Pregnancy planned 36 W 3 days

2026-01-01 17:24:36
My delivery is planned early at 36 weeks 3 days due to scar thinning (1.4 mm) from previous delivery. The baby is currently 2.4 kgs with adequate AFI and blood flow and doctor has given me two doses of Betamethasone injections too in 35 weeks. What are the chances that baby would need NICU. Do all babies born at 36 weeks need support?

Please share usg report... Babies born before 36 weeks are late preterm...so less likely to have complication

Any baby born before 36 weeks is Preterm In your case since you are more than 36 weeks and you already have the steroid injection The chances of the baby requiring an n i c u stay because of inadequate lung maturity are unlikely But since the birth weight is low It looks like an intrauterine growth restricted baby Any baby born less than 2.5 kg is a low birth weight baby Also ultrasound is not an exact predictor of the fetal weight Baby may  require icu  stay because of low birth weight or iugr
