Dear Sir/Madam, My wife is 18 weeks 2 days Pregnant, In Tiffa Scan Report its showing that (There is a Single Echogenic intracardiac focus (EIF) in the left cardiac ventricle, & Doctor says will see next month after baby growing..will do another scan for clarity, just want to know that is this a serious problem or due to this will pregnancy or baby effect.

Ecogenic intracardiac foci s seen many a times in second trimester level 2 scan.. Its a soft marker.. If its the isolated findings usually its nothing to be worried about.. However if associated with other markers then it has to be taken real seriously.. Ideally a fetal ECHO s advisable to rule out ny possible deformity in fetal heart.. Initiate a direct consult for further management
