You need to undergo surgery- Tympanoplasty,  a simple surgery to graft on a new eardrum just underneath the remnants of your present eardrum. It takes lots of skill and precision by a trained ENT Surgeon to do it and usually requires about 1 month to completely recover from the surgery. Over the next few months, your original eardrum cells will gradually multiply and regenerate from the periphery to the center and simultaneously, the grafted tissue which acted as a scaffolding will gradually be resorbed by the body. However, even the best of Surgeons cannot give you 100% hearing back. About 10-15% hearing loss is acceptable.

You are welcome to come to meet me at my clinic Healthcare@Basaveshwaranagar in Bengaluru for a clinical assessment for the surgery.
