Does septum re deviate again after sepro

I had my septoplasty 45 days ago , but many people including some doctors say that there's no point doing a septoplasty as the septum will re deviate again after a few years as a natural tendency so is it true , of its true what should be done to avoid it . was my surgery a waste?
