Disc bulge...surgery

Hi, recently i saw a ortho doctor who advised me to go for surgery..L5S1 problem. He also said some people complains 5% pain still remains after surgery and also chances of reoccurence in a later stage...can anyone advise me if i have to go for surgery or not. I am suffering pain for the last 4 years. Thank you.
