Diagnosis Ca Stomach- stage?
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Recently my dad has been diagnosed as Ca Stomach. His Biopsy report shows well defferientiated adenocarcinoma. CT report- there is a evidence of enhancing circumferential wall thickening with associated luminal narrowing involving the antipyloric region. It is seen for the length of approximately 5.4cm. Maximum wall thickness measure 16 - 17 mm. There is prelesional fat stranding with enlarged lymph nodes adjacent to lesion,perigastric and peripancreatic locations, largest one measuring 17.4 mm in short axis. Endoscopy ulcero proliferative growth at antrum. Can I please know which treatment is best for him and any suggestion for best Doctor in Mysore. Thank you. God bless
To tell exact stage I need to see the full biopsy report. As per the imaging it will be stage II or III. There are 2 schools of thought. Upfront surgery vs upfront chemotherapy. I would suggest chemotherapy first for 3 cycles followed by surgery and then 3 more cycles of chemotherapy. I dont know anybody in mysore. It seems, that he is suffering from Stomach Cancer, Stage 2-3. Biopsy report would be awaited. In case, he is not able to eat, or is continuously vomitting, or is having blood in vomitus, he would need surgery first, else chemotherapy followed by surgery. Please consult for any further queries.
