Depression and Anxiety are treated with similar medicines (SSRIs - in your case Escitalopram ie Nexito) as their underlying biochemical basis are quite similar. Usually the medicines reach peak levels in 8-12 weeks. If there is not much benefit then it is augmented with other drug. We also assignment with CBT.
