Hello, If its first episode of depression then its advised to take treatment for 6 to 9 months after you are asymptomatic. Every medication will have some side effects. So these medication are increased gradually over time. Go for regular follow up and tests as required to keep a check on side effects if any. Yes anxiety symptoms will be better with your antidepressant treatment.
Next Steps
Visit your psychiatrist regularly.

Hello Its good that you are feeling better with treatment. It may take up to 3 months for you to feel completely fine. However, it is recommended that you continue the treatment for at least 6 months after 1st episode of depression .please do not stop or alter your medicine without consulting your psychiatrist. Antidepressant are very safe medication, There can be some side effects of antidepressant like any other medication, however most of the side effects occur during the starting phase of treatment Hope this helps Regards Dr Ankita Mishra

Hello Depression and anxiety takes a few months to cure but also requires combination therapy i.e. medicines along with psychotherapy. Try consulting a clinical psychologist for counselling sessions along with the medication.
