For therapy to be effective, the most important requirement is that of a good therapeutic relationship between the client and counsellor.
Figuring out the right counsellor for yourself can take some time as not every counsellor is a good fit for every client.
Consider changing your therapist as a way forward.
In case talk therapy isn't most suitable for you, then you can also look for other modalities like EMDR therapy or Drama therapy.
Also, remember to look for a trauma informed psychologist.
