Sorry to hear about your friends situation. No doubt it is anxiety provoking, with him having decided on the date to commit suicide. Although I am not sure about mental health act in India, it might be worth speaking to the local police about the situation in confidence to see if they have any legal powers to get him to see the psychiatrist/hospital, where his safety can be assured and further plans about treatment can be made.
