Hi, I can understand your concern.
Black tooth suggests it needs RCT.
Let me explain - In case of injury or trauma to a tooth, either a tooth fractures or its pulp (nerve & vessels) dies away. Most probably this has what happened with your lateral incisor and such tooth needs RCT. But in your case either RCT has not been done or it was incomplete, so over 10 years that dead pulp has decomposed and has become black giving black color to the tooth.
Now you need RCT for black tooth followed by crown, also you can get your other crown changed. Lot of options are available for crowns. You can choose according to your choice, I would suggest to go for E-Max crowns. Hope it will help.Take care.
