Hello My cousin, 24 yom, has been admitted in FORTIS ICU since yesterday. He had contracted Dengue a week ago. Day before yesterday, he suffered a seizure and was admitted to Fortis ICU. He also had pleural effusion and was experiencing difficulty in breathing. He is currently on ventilator. Doctors have said they are waiting for him to gain consciousness. They will then observe his behaviour. Here are the LFT AND CT BRAIN reports. Abdomen ultrasound showed no internal bleeding. Doppler Echo was normal. Kidney function - Sr creatinine 1.2. GFR 84. COVID test is negative. What is the prognosis? Can the liver recover?

This is very peculiar. The CT Scan of the brain is perfectly normal. Liver has great healing power. It can recover from injuries far greater than this. What other tests are abnormal?

Hi, it seems like your Cousin has expanded dengue syndrome, involving multiple organs. Regarding his prognosis , only the treating doctors can give the exact information as they examine the patient and also have the latest workup details. I would ask you to have faith in your treating doctors and do as they advice. As your cousin is of a very young age, his chances of recovery should be better.
