It is not a air borne or aerosol borne infection. So it cannot be transferred that way. A specific species of mosquito is the vector for the disease. In order to keep your child safe use mosquito nets or mosquito repellent.

If anyone at your home is having dengue than it doesn't mean that you will not get it. It is transmitted by a mosquito bite. So, every other members in family must use a mosquito repellent creams, use mosquito nets while sleeping, wear full sleeve clothes to protect one from bite. Take good care of the one who is infected now. Get them. Plenty of fluids and keep temperature check. In case of any emergency get to nearby hospital without delay.
