CT scan fear
Sir/madam, How many days gap should be given between two CT scans !! Doctor said me to go for CT enterography (IBD protocol) instead I went for normal CT enterography!! Which he was not satisfied so he said to wait for more 2 months !! Should I go for another CT scan !! In Internet it is showing that even one CT scan is dangerous!! Will I get cancer from these CT scans !! Should I go for second scan if I go how many moths gap should be given
Ct scan involves x rays which are one of the cause of mutations...
But we always follow two principles ..ALARA as low as reasonably achieved
Benefit should outweigh risk..
Decrease the number of scans as much as possible and take antioxidant rich diet like greens vegetables as per your gastroenterologist advice

Restricted number of CT scans will not cause cancer, however regularly done multiple scans may have a risk for radiation induced cancers. In case your doctor feels, the benefits of a scan to diagnose the condition outweigh it's risks, can get it done
