Firstly what do you exactly mean by common cold? If u mean cold then it is just a symptoms, which can/cannot be covid or any other virus, how can anyone say that without getting tested. Rtpcr is a pcr test which is not done just for covid, it is done in many other cases. If you are specifically asking for covid then yes rtpcr for covid will not be positive if you are infected with some other organism. But that does not mean in this pandemic time you don't get yourself tested. And considering your age, you are vulnerable so better get your self tested before it is too late. Earlier diagnosis will ensure better outcome.

Its better to follow covid protocol of social distancing and mask. Given the current surge of covid cases and high infectivity of omicron, there may be a chance of rtpcr coming positive.
Next Steps
Kindly take symptomatic treatment and get yourself tested if any recent contact of you came positive for covid
Health Tips
If there is any fall in oxygen saturation or shortness of breath, kindly contact your nearest hospital.
