Is it necessary that covid can affect lungs even a little bit? Or it is not necessary that covid will affect the lungs?

There are patients where the lungs are not involved at all, but majority of the cases have minor to major lung involvement ranging from pneumonia to ARDS.

There are patients wherein we see absolutely no lung involvement. But the classic symptoms are present of covid without cough. So lung involvement is optional. I would opine that around 20 -25 percent of patients don't have complete lung involvement.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (sars-cov 2) is the disease caused by corona virus.Though it is not necessary that lungs must have to be affected but it generally does and thats why symptomatic patients having rtpcr negetive(with the current triple mutation),hrct thorax plays an important role in diagnosis and prognosis.
