Could not urinate properly

Frequently I am feeling discomfort after peeing. After peeing some amount is retained and I feel like peeing but only little amount comes out . I apply pressure to pee. By applying pressure while standing some pee comes out then some muscles are relaxed. Why is it happening. What could be the cause.
