A cough that starts dry and then turns productive with phlegm over 10 days is a common pattern following a viral upper respiratory infection. Since you have not improved despite cough syrup and home remedies, it is important to get a clinical evaluation — especially to check if the phlegm is yellow or green, which could indicate a secondary bacterial infection. A chest examination is needed at this stage to rule out any lower respiratory involvement.
Next Steps
Please do not delay a clinical consultation at this point since there has been no improvement. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
