A cough and cold lasting 2–3 months along with weakness, body pain, and headache usually means this is no longer a simple flu. Common underlying causes include: • Post-viral cough that never fully settled • Allergic rhinitis / allergic bronchitis • Asthma variant cough • Sinusitis • GERD (acid reflux–related cough) • Vitamin deficiencies (D, B12, iron) causing weakness and body pain If medicines give temporary relief but symptoms keep returning, the root cause has not been identified yet. The good news: this is treatable, but it needs a focused evaluation, not random medicines.
Next Steps
Please do these step by step: 1. Basic tests (very important now) • CBC • ESR / CRP • Chest X-ray • Absolute eosinophil count • Serum IgE (for allergy) • Vitamin D and B12 2. Specialist review • Pulmonologist (best choice) • ENT review if sinus symptoms are present (blocked nose, facial pressure) 3. Treatment adjustment Based on reports, treatment may include: • Inhalers (if allergic/asthma cough) • Anti-allergy long-term control • Treatment for sinusitis or reflux • Vitamin supplementation
Health Tips
• Avoid cold drinks, dust, smoke, incense • Steam inhalation daily • Sleep with head slightly elevated • Warm fluids only • Do not overuse cough syrups • Complete rest is essential — chronic cough delays recovery Many patients suffer like this for months because the cause is missed, not because it’s serious. Once the correct diagnosis is made, improvement is usually quick and lasting. If you want, you can consult me online — I can: • Review your current medicines • Guide exact tests • Help identify the real cause • Create a clear recovery plan You don’t need to keep suffering — this can be solved properly.
