Based on the information you have provided, there is no evidence that she currently has diabetes. Her HbA1c of 5.6% is within the normal range, which is a very reassuring result, especially at 56 years of age. The fasting and post-meal glucometer readings you mentioned are also not diagnostic of diabetes. Diabetes is diagnosed using standardized laboratory criteria such as HbA1c ≥6.5% or fasting plasma glucose ≥126 mg/dL, with confirmation when appropriate. So, at present, there is no reason to label her as diabetic based on these results. Her HbA1c indicates that her average blood glucose over the preceding few months has been in a healthy range. She should simply continue a balanced diet, regular physical activity and periodic monitoring, particularly if she has risk factors such as excess weight or a family history of diabetes.
Next Steps
Continue healthy lifestyle measures and repeat HbA1c/fasting laboratory glucose during routine health checks. There is no need to start diabetes medication based on the information provided.
Health Tips
Home glucometer readings can vary depending on the timing of the test, meals, technique and the device itself. For diagnosis, rely on laboratory plasma glucose and HbA1c, rather than isolated glucometer readings.

No She is pre diabetic Fasting 100 to 125 and post prandial 140 to 200 is pre diabetic Though HbA1C 5.6 is in non diabetic range. That means her sugars have started getting deranged in last few weeks, less than 3 months.
Next Steps
Check HbA1C every 3 months Check FBS, PPBS after 15 days lifestyle modification stop eating sugar, jaggery, strength training, brisk walking
