Complete recovery from depression

I just have a simple question from all the pychiatrists that what %ge of your patients who had major depression (clinical depression) in which a person is suicidal and dysfunctional(no interest in anything even sex) have completely recovered from depression(particularly teenagers who have to  make their career). I have this question because I'm suffering from it since last 5 years and have taken many meds and still taking nexito, venlafaxine but even after that I'm having cognitive problems from 2 years like now I don't enjoy learning anything new, eg. I had many hobbies like guitaring, dancing, sports etc but now they don't make me feel good. Even when I try something new it doesn't interest me. Nowadays I just study(mugup)for getting passing marks not for understanding what is written because my mind is not capable to understand tough concepts which was easy for me once.Is there any possibility that I will function completely like before. Can I get answer from 3-4 docs. Plz help

Hi, according to what you have described, it seems like the best choice for you would be to undergo therapy along with medication...there are various techniques for cognitive restructuring..and a carefully monitored and charted therapy plan by your psychiatrist can help you in redifining your thinking process and teaching you coping mechanisms for a more fulfiling life...
Next Steps
