At 3 months, it can be normal for some babies, especially breastfed babies, to pass stool after several days. If the stool is soft when passed, it is usually not constipation. Baby may cry/strain because he is still learning coordination for passing stool. Please avoid putting finger or repeatedly stimulating the anus, as it can cause injury/bleeding. You can try gentle tummy massage and bicycle movements of legs.
