Cold Sore End Cycle Following Scab

I've had a cold sore for about a week now and it's finished scabbing over, leaving the pink skin that is normally left over. Is the skin still infectious? I know there's no real answer as to when the sore has completely healed up, but I have been getting mixed messages as to whether it remains infectious or not from research on the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
