I have a class 2 cavity. It went unnoticed until 3 days back when it started hurting. Is root canal the only treatment or is there any other alternative?

If the cavity is small it can be cured by normal filling procedure. An X-ray is required to check the extent of infection. Root canal is the last option. If the caries is not that deep than other options are also there like direct and indirect pulp caping.

Hi, it depends on the extent of the decay. If it has just started then you can get a restorative filing done or if it’s deep you will have to get an X-ray and then go for root canal.

If you are having continuous tooth pain,then go for root canal treatment or if u slight pain then go for temporary filling.After 15 days of  temporary filling if you won't get any pain then go for permanent filling.
