  4. CKD hypertension. Please advise!

CKD hypertension

The patient is suffering from diabetes and hypertension. Now recently her creatnine (5) and blood urea (165) level has gone high. I believe it is a typical case of ESRD. We will be consulting a nephrologist however dietary intervention can play miraculous in managing the blood profile. Please advise

Your patient is having CKD stage 5, most likely due to diabetes. If symptomatic, he requires hemodialysis. Dietary modifications help patient to stabilize kidney function and delay initiation of hemodialysis. Consult your nephrologist regarding dietary modifications and need of hemodialysis.
