Dependent areas of ground glass opacity and inter lobular septal thickening noted in the basal segments both lower lobe, more so in the right lobe with intervening normal attenuation- vascular congestion markings

This report is suggestive of features of pulmonary edema presenting more so in dependent areas and in basal segments.

Next Steps

may need complete evaluation for the cause of pulmonary edema, which includes Liver function tests, Kidney function tests and a 2D ECHO if the former tests are negative. A thyroid profile test may also be insightful in correct clinical scenarios.

Health Tips

Fluid restriction is recommended. If the patient is a known case of Nephrotic syndrome, CLD or Heart Failure, adequate treatment with diuretics may be required.
