Usually steroid course is given in carpal tunnel syndrome patients. First of all if ur symptoms r due to CTS ,then only it will work.it will be diagnosed based on nerve conduction studies done by trained neurologist.(surgery will be dobe for severe CTS ) If due to cervical spondylitic( needs mri c.spine ) radiculopathy,stetoids wont be of use . So better to be seen by neurologist and get evaluated properly.(surgery will be done in only severe compression ).
