Dear Sir/Ma'am, My mother was diagnosed Colon cancer back in 2019. It was the 3rd stage cancer. Surgery was performed and  6 months of chemotherapy was followed. Since then after every 3 months her review happens which includes CEA test and thyroid test. I have attached both the reports. This time her report doesn't seems normal. CEA is more than 3.0 ng/mL. Also liver is Grade-1 fatty liver. Please advice is it the recurrence of colon cancer? How this will be cured?

Grade 1 fatty liver is not worrisome. CEA less than 5 is acceptable. Please carry on follow up 6 monthly till its 5 years from surgery. Get a colonoscopy and CECT thorax-abdomen-pelvis if not done lately. She seems all fine. Dont worry.

Hi, usually the CEA is less than 3 for non smokers and less than 5 in smokers are considered normal.  I suggest you to get the repeat CEA at a standard labs like lalpath, core, apollo and if it is also elevated above 3 then you can go with CT abdomen and coloniscopy if required. Fatty liver is common in adults due to lifestyle and dietary habits. It's not related to colon cancer
Next Steps
meet your oncologist and send repeat CEA
