She is afraid of closing of other eye during operation. Can cataract operation be done under general anaesthesia? A cataract has been diagnosed in her left eye.

Hello Cataract is very simple surgery It is painless surgery Usually it is under under local anaesthetic But if your mother is afraid,it can be done under light sedation GA can be given but not required

Hello...cataract surgery is done under local retrobulbar anesthesia....it's not done under general anesthesia....many undergo cataract surgery...her blood glucose and blood pressure levels should be under control .....it helps in fast healing of wounds...consult ophthalmologist
