Success rates are quite high in carpal tunnel release. Complete recovery takes abt 6-8wks. Complete recovery also depends on how much the nerve was damaged before surgery due to compression.

Hi, In good hands it is highly successful surgery. Make sure tunnel is released fully. It is done under local anaesthetic. rare side effects are scar tenderness, infection, Chronic regional pain syndrome, pillar pain up to 3 months. Very useful procedure with predictably good results. Risk of median nerve injury is there but if done properly chances are very rare. Complete recovery doesn't take more than 2 weeks.
