Can we take Bromexhime for cough

Three weeks back, I got fever and cold . Fever and cold subsided but cough is persisting... I started taking Bromexhime.. but it didn't reduce.. I felt like it worsenend to a dry cough .. now I stopped taking that syrup and trying hot water and salt water gargle... better but Still not completely reduced..gets cough after speaking few sentences.. Please suggest if we have to continue that syrup and if so how frequently

Bromhexine is mucolytic and helps in chesty cough.It certainly is not useful in dry there's no need to continue with it.Take steam inhalation and combination of antihistamine /pseudo ephedrine like loridin-D once daily

Do not take the cougg syrup.you can take cetrizine 10 mg at night for a few days.continue gargles.may use non medicated lozenges to reduce cough
