Calculus in ureter

2024-07-04 18:24:01
I have had a ureter calculus for 2 months It has stuck in the same place. 2 months back I did a CT KUB when I had stone pain and it was reported that size was around 5mm. Went for flush therapy and  stone didn't come out, but there was no pain after that. Again 15 days back I had pain and did CT KUB ( REPORT:  A calculus measuring 4mm ~400HU is noted at the right proximal ureter with mild hydoureteronephrosis). Doctor suggested if it's not passed out within the next 8 to 10 days ( silodosin for 8 days has been prescribed) you might need to go for surgery. I don't want to go for surgery, please advise me on any medication or  will it be passed easily as it's less than 5mm? Surgery is really needed in this case?

Long standing ureteric calculus may completely damage ur that kidney. I don't think that any more wait is justified. As meds are not working Need examination Kindly consult with details of history investigations for detailed explanation of treatment plan
