One year of age is normal to have a pacifier. If this continues for beyond 2-3 years . Then visit a pediatrician in your city. Hope this helped.

Pacifiers don't generally effect the alignment of teeth of they are discontinued by 2 years of age. So please make it a point to not prolong the duration.

Pacifier use in a 1-year-old will not protrude the teeth forward at this age. However, it is advisable to reduce the use of the pacifier gradually and stop it within the next 6 months. Start by not leaving the pacifier or feeding bottle nipple inside the mouth while the child is sleeping.

Hi, The habit has to be stopped as soon as possible. It can affect the jaw development. There are ways to slowly stop the habit. After she sleeps, you can slowly take out the pacifier from the mouth. But eventually she has to start sleeping without the pacifier as next step will be thumb sucking if the habit is not stopped. Discuss with your Pediatrician.
