My chest xray shows pleural effusion on both sides. I cant sleep at night . My breath either stops or gets very very fast that it chokes me. Loosing weight n appetite

U should go for Pleural effusion tapping and fluid testing . I will give the cause of effusion . Treatment will be started accordingly. Also need to do 2 D echo and USG abdomen. In view of ur age , possibility of TB can not be ruled out .

Both sides pleural effusion is usual caused by heart/liver/kidney failure provided there is no fever. Need to evaluate your diabetic and hypertensive status as well

Bilateral pleural effusion is generally due to systemic cause. Most common being congestive heart failure.
Next Steps
get a usg thorax done and get a diagnostic pleural fluid aspiration and send for samples.
Health Tips
you can consult a pulmonologist( for evaluation of pleural effusion) and a general physician to rule out any systemic cause like htn, kidney disease or liver disease.
